when set up to choose one of two evils
there exists a third option to explore
rather than choose whether to spill blood or poison
you can choose, instead, to ignore

if ever the choice seems too hard
as unfair choices often are
choose instead to disregard
rather than lower every bar
don’t feed flames hoping they won’t char
when you can only make bitter or tart
why make? why even go that far?
who told you it’s better to take part?

it’s not really your choice, anyway
you were never really in charge
please don’t drain from destruction a fluid
for this pool is already too large

I know you’re considering your options
but these options are not yours
how could you go about selecting
one solution from two wars?

stagnated opression
versus seeping surprises
passionate debate
but neither side rises

human race I love so much
won’t you listen to this thought?
corrupt forces ask you to choose
but you can always choose to not

I urge you now, my cousins dear
to stop holding all the noise in
to choose the flooding of neither fluid
whether it be blood or poison
